The most effective way to prepare for public speaking

How to prepare to any public talk or presentation:

1️⃣ Buy post-it notes (real, paper ones)

2️⃣ Write all the thoughts you want to convey to your audience on these real post-its

3️⃣ Group these thoughts by topic - there should not be too many or too few of them. Optimally, 3-7 topics per presentation, depending on the length of the presentation

4️⃣ Select the main one from each ‘cloud’ of thoughts, stick the rest below it. Distribute the lower ones according to their importance and logic

5️⃣ Each column - 3-5 stickers, no more. Something will have to be sacrificed, and this something can be put ‘in the basement’. You’ll be ab;e to use it if you have time left

6️⃣ Go through the speech by the points you have highlighted: main idea => sub-thoughts => next main idea => its sub-thoughts, and so on.

7️⃣ Repeat several times (out loud).

Done! Now, when you come out with your speech, you won't be going in circles, you won't be looking for a forgotten point, but you will mentally follow the stickers you have prepared.
